Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: June 11, 2025
Last Updated: June 11, 2025

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the sale, delivery, and warranty of all products and services provided by KAROLA Windows (“KAROLA”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By placing an order or entering into a sales agreement with KAROLA, the client (“you”, “your”, or “customer”) agrees to the following terms:

1. Scope of Supply

KAROLA provides custom window and door systems manufactured in accordance with agreed specifications, drawings, and materials confirmed in writing. Final scope, dimensions, and finishes must be approved in writing before production.

2. Lead Times & Delivery

All lead times are approximate and subject to production capacity, shipping conditions, and supply chain variability. Delivery timelines are confirmed upon order approval, typically 12 - 16 months. KAROLA is not liable for delays caused by third-party carriers, customs, weather, or force majeure events.

3. Payment Terms

All payment terms are stated in your quote or invoice. Standard terms may include:

  • Deposit due upon order confirmation

  • Remaining balance due prior to release, upon delivery, or as outlined in contract

  • Late payments may be subject to interest or suspension of delivery

4. Order Changes & Cancellations

Once production has begun, changes or cancellations may not be possible without incurring material and processing fees. Custom products are non-refundable once in fabrication.

5. Product Warranty

Frames (Aluminum Profiles) - 50-Year Limited Warranty

KAROLA warrants that all aluminum window and door frames will remain structurally sound and free from manufacturing defects for 50 years from the date of delivery. This includes frame integrity, thermal break performance, and surface coatings when properly maintained and installed according to KAROLA guidelines.

This warranty does not cover damage due to:

  • Improper installation not performed or authorized by KAROLA

  • Physical damage, misuse, alteration, or accidents

  • Chemical exposure, saltwater corrosion, or contact with incompatible materials

  • Building movement or structural failure

Glass Units – Manufacturer’s Warranty

All insulated glass units (IGUs) are backed by the warranty of the original glass manufacturer. This typically covers seal failure, moisture ingress, and fogging for a period of 10 to 20 years, depending on the specific product used.

KAROLA will support the client in submitting warranty claims directly with the glass manufacturer when applicable.

Hardware – Manufacturer’s Warranty

All hardware components (hinges, handles, locks, sliders, etc.) are covered by the warranty of the hardware manufacturer, typically ranging from 5 to 10 years. Hardware warranties apply to manufacturing defects and normal residential use.

6. Warranty Claims

To initiate a warranty claim, contact office@karola.ca with your original invoice, photos of the issue, and a description of the problem. KAROLA will assess the claim and assist with resolution. Site visits, inspections, and repair work may be subject to service fees unless covered by warranty.

7. Liability

KAROLA is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including loss of use, loss of revenue, or damage caused by improper installation or misuse of the product. Our total liability under any claim shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product.

8. Product Use & Installation

KAROLA products must be installed by qualified professionals and used in accordance with applicable building codes and site conditions. Failure to follow KAROLA’s handling and installation instructions will void the warranty.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where KAROLA is registered and operates.

Return and Refund Policy

Effective Date: June 11, 2025

At KAROLA, every window and door is custom-built to order, tailored to your project specifications. As such, we maintain a strict no-return, no-refund policy on all finalized, fabricated, or shipped products.

1. Custom Orders Are Final

All KAROLA products are made-to-measure and produced specifically for each client. Once manufacturing has begun, the order is non-cancellable, non-refundable, and not eligible for return under any circumstances, except in the case of verified manufacturing defects (see Warranty section in our Terms & Conditions).

2. Deposits Are Non-Refundable

A deposit is required to initiate all orders. This deposit secures your production slot and materials. All deposits are non-refundable, even if the order is later cancelled, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by KAROLA.

3. Damage or Defect Upon Delivery

You must inspect all products upon delivery. If there is visible damage or a defect:

  • Notify KAROLA within 5 business days of receipt

  • Provide supporting photos, documentation, and a description of the issue

  • KAROLA will assess the claim and determine whether it qualifies for repair, replacement, or resolution under warranty

KAROLA is not responsible for damage caused during handling or installation by third parties.

4. No Returns for Buyer’s Remorse or Misordering

Because each product is custom-built to specification:

  • We do not accept returns due to changes in project scope, mismeasurements, delays, or changes in preference

  • It is the client’s responsibility to review and confirm all drawings, specifications, colours, and configurations prior to approval

5. Restocking and Return Exceptions

In rare cases where KAROLA approves a return (e.g., overstocked hardware or non-custom accessories), a restocking fee of 25% may apply, and return shipping costs will be the client’s responsibility.

No return will be accepted without prior written approval from KAROLA.
